HONNE to also play the Saturday night of the festival

Hot on the heels of their world tour, this will be Mumford & Sons’ first performance in Singapore and Southeast Asia while Honne returns after two sell-out shows earlier this year

16 July 2019, Singapore – Singapore’s premier music and arts festival Neon Lights returns to Fort Canning Park on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November 2019, and today they announce two very exciting acts for the Saturday bill.

The first artist to join this year’s host of international and global musicians is Brit and Grammy-Award winning British band Mumford & Sons, who will put up their first ever show in Singapore and Southeast Asia on the Neon Lights stage on Saturday 23rd November. The band has headlined some of the world’s biggest music festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella and with just 7,000 tickets available for their first Singapore show, fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early when they go on sale at 9am this Friday.

Playing ahead of Mumford & Sons on the main stage on Saturday 23rd November will be British electronic-soul act Honne – a band who has already established their popularity in Singapore. Each of Honne’s four previous Singapore shows have sold out months in advance, most recently with two nights at The Capitol Theatre in March this year. Masters at setting up an idyllic and almost addictive ambience, fans should expect nothing less than a mesmerising performance as they deliver some of their most popular tracks such as Coastal Love and Me & You from their two evocative studio albums Warm on a Cold Night and Love Me / Love Me Not

Known for incorporating folk instruments such as the banjo, mandolin and resonator guitar, Mumford & Sons have released four multi-platinum certified albums over the last decade with singles from all albums such as Little Lion Man, I Will Wait, Believe and Guiding Light, topping the charts in umpteen different countries including US, UK, Germany, Australia and Canada.

Since their debut in West London in 2007, Mumford & Sons have put on many phenomenal performances in both large stadiums and small cosy venues, leading to the production of three ‘live’ albums; the most notable one being Road to Red Rocks. Their November trip with be their only ever show in Asia other than their outing at Fuji Rocks 2013 in Japan, and fans will not want to miss this exclusive opportunity to experience the charismatic band on the Neon Lights stage. This year, the festival returns to Fort Canning Green at the recently rejuvenated Fort Canning Park, taking advantage of the hill that doubles as a natural amphitheatre and providing an intimate outdoor experience for all.

Mumford & Sons have over the last decade established themselves as one of the biggest and most loved bands in the world – due to the consistent top quality of the songwriting and live performances,“ said Declan Forde, Neon Lights’ Founder and Festival Director. “It’s a huge coup for Neon Lights to be hosting them for their first ever show in South East Asia. They’ve been top of our target list since we started the festival four years ago –   the natural beauty of Fort Canning Park lends a perfect setting for Mumford & Sons’ style and we’re looking forward to announcing the rest of the festival bill in the coming weeks and month.”

Neon Lights 2019 takes place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November from 1pm till late each day. Limited Early Bird tickets for Saturday, 23rd November, go on sale at 9am on Friday, 19th July at www.neonlights.sg and SISTIC at S$108. Once this has sold out, Standard Advance tickets will kick-in at S$128. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early so as to avoid disappointment.
